The guesthouse at Sahyadri School is designed to feel warm, inviting, and yet connected to the rest of the campus. Thoughtfully minimal, the space is centered around a cozy, functional courtyard, where lush trees and a layered understorey bring shade and seclusion, while pockets of fragrant flowering shrubs and soft grass patches naturally shape intimate seating nooks, dining areas, and quiet sit-outs.
A small amphitheater sits within the landscape, creating a casual space for gatherings and events. The pathways and open areas are paved with murram, a locally sourced stone-chip material that blends finely with the surroundings, giving the space an organic, earthy feel. A low retaining wall subtly defines the boundary between the guesthouse and the parikrama route to the north, while a fruit orchard and parking area along the southeastern edge create a lush, welcoming approach to the space.
