Ahmedabad
Olive Green is a community of 56 Plots of land, set across 22 acres, located 30 kms west of Ahmedabad. The scheme is designed on an urban wetland that offers a wide range of important resources and ecosystem services like groundwater recharge, water purification, flood moderation, erosion control, carbon storage and climate regulation. Considering these characteristics, the landscape for one of the common plots was conceptualised as a wetland park designed with a native forest planted in the higher areas while the wetland zone was left to fluctuate with the seasons and wilderness.

This rectangular plot is transformed into wild a wetland and grassland that is characteristic of the region. A winding path leads one through tall grasses and dense shrubs. The land starts to descent from the edges of the path. While the garden dips in the centre, the borders of the garden rise into gentle mounds. Mixed Fruit orchards populate the garden while native, wild and forgotten species take root in the left over spaces. Out of this wild garden, designed to develop an ecology in the area, emerge open and secret spaces, spaces for gathering and reflection.
Situated in the corner of the site, this common plot holds the club house, a swimming pool and other recreational spaces. It is situated on a raised platform within the site.It is surrounded by small hillocks, lily ponds, and a wetland that is inturn enveloped by a food forest along its edges. A larger path covers the length of the ground while smaller trails wander off into the plantations. The borders of the site are almost forest-like. Shrubs, grasses and bushes surround a lawn patch along the club house.
